Job Description:
A General Manager for an Automobile Service Center oversees all operations, focusing on profitability, customer satisfaction, and efficiency by managing staff (hiring, training), finances, inventory, daily workflow, and ensuring high-quality, compliant repairs, bridging service/sales, and implementing strategic growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Direct daily workshop operations, ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and legal regulations.
- Manage service scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation (technicians, equipment).
- Maintain facility cleanliness, safety, and equipment functionality.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, control costs, and monitor expenditures.
- Review financial forecasts and performance with accounting staff.
- Strategize to increase key metrics like Hours Per Repair Order (H/RO).
- Customer Experience:
- Ensure excellent customer service, handle complaints, and build lasting customer relationships.
- Monitor customer feedback to improve satisfaction ratings.
- Team Leadership:
- Hire, train, motivate, and conduct performance reviews for service department staff (technicians, advisors, parts).
- Develop talent and foster a positive, productive work environment.
- Inventory & Parts:
- Oversee parts inventory, ordering, and supply chain coordination.
- Strategic Growth:
- Implement strategies to boost productivity, sales (service-to-sales), and customer retention.
- Plan promotions and events to drive business.
