Job Description:
A General Manager for an Automobile Service Center oversees all operations, focusing on profitability, customer satisfaction, and efficiency by managing staff (hiring, training), finances, inventory, daily workflow, and ensuring high-quality, compliant repairs, bridging service/sales, and implementing strategic growth plans. 
 

 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations Management:
    • Direct daily workshop operations, ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and legal regulations.
    • Manage service scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation (technicians, equipment).
    • Maintain facility cleanliness, safety, and equipment functionality.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage departmental budgets, control costs, and monitor expenditures.
    • Review financial forecasts and performance with accounting staff.
    • Strategize to increase key metrics like Hours Per Repair Order (H/RO).
  • Customer Experience:
    • Ensure excellent customer service, handle complaints, and build lasting customer relationships.
    • Monitor customer feedback to improve satisfaction ratings.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Hire, train, motivate, and conduct performance reviews for service department staff (technicians, advisors, parts).
    • Develop talent and foster a positive, productive work environment.
  • Inventory & Parts:
    • Oversee parts inventory, ordering, and supply chain coordination.
  • Strategic Growth:
    • Implement strategies to boost productivity, sales (service-to-sales), and customer retention.
    • Plan promotions and events to drive business.
