Job Description:
A Sales Staff member in a Sports & Musicals showroom acts as the face of the business, assisting customers with product selections, driving revenue, and maintaining showroom organization. Success requires strong product knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to demonstrate a variety of gear.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Sales
- Greet & Assist: Welcome customers, listen to their needs, and guide them in selecting the right sports or musical equipment.
- Product Demonstrations: Confidently demonstrate how to use instruments, test out sports gear, or explain technical specifications.
- Upselling & Cross-selling: Recommend complementary items (e.g., rosin for a violin, or spare grips for a tennis racket) to maximize sales.
- Target Achievement: Meet or exceed individual and store-level monthly sales targets.
Showroom & Inventory Management
- Merchandising: Keep the sales floor clean, tidy, and visually appealing to customers.
- Stock Replenishment: Assist in monitoring inventory levels, restocking shelves, and notifying management of low-stock items.
- Transactions: Process customer payments, handle POS (Point of Sale) systems, and manage cash/credit operations.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with musical instruments (guitars, keyboards, etc.) and various sporting goods (apparel, racquets, fitness gear).
- Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding verbal communication to effectively explain technical information.
- Experience: Previous retail or showroom sales experience is highly preferred.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, which are peak times for retail traffic.
