Job Description:
A Senior Executive HR in a steel pipes manufacturing plant bridges management and shop-floor workers. They manage industrial relations, high-volume recruitment for skilled and unskilled labor, statutory labor compliances (e.g., Factories Act), payroll, attendance tracking, and employee welfare in a fast-paced, safety-critical manufacturing environment.

Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on Senior Executive HR to oversee human resources and plant administration. The ideal candidate will act as a strategic partner to plant management, focusing heavily on managing a large blue-collar workforce, handling industrial relations, driving compliance, and ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations to maximize productivity and maintain a harmonious work culture. 
Key Responsibilities
1. Industrial Relations (IR) & Employee Relations
  • Foster cordial relations between management and shop-floor workers/labor unions.
  • Implement corporate IR policies, handle employee grievances, and facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Lead disciplinary actions, handle domestic inquiries, and ensure adherence to the company's code of conduct.
  • Serve on internal committees (e.g., Employee Welfare, Safety, and Canteen committees). 
2. Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for both white-collar (engineers, supervisors) and blue-collar (welders, machine operators, helpers) roles.
  • Manage high-volume hiring and contractor labor deployment according to plant production targets.
  • Oversee joining formalities, induction programs, and mandatory plant safety training for all new hires.
3. Statutory Compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to labor laws and statutory regulations, including the Factories Act (1948), Contract Labour Act (RAA), Minimum Wages Act, ESI, and PF.
  • Maintain accurate records and liaise with government labor and safety authorities.
  • Conduct internal HR audits and manage statutory inspections. 
4. Payroll & Time Office Management
  • Oversee the time office, including shift scheduling, leave records, and attendance tracking.
  • Process monthly payroll for staff and manage contractor billing/wages disbursement.
  • Administer employee benefits, insurance, and compensation structures.
5. Performance Management & Training
  • Administer the performance appraisal system and annual increment cycles for plant staff.
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate technical and soft-skill training programs for workforce development. 
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: MBA in HR, Master of Social Work (MSW), or a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations (PM&IR).
  • Experience: 4 to 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-4 years in a manufacturing, heavy engineering, or steel plant environment.
  • Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of state and central labor laws and industrial regulations.
  • Language: Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in the local language is highly desirable for managing union and worker disputes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Advanced Excel) and hands-on experience using HRMS/ERP software.
