Job Description:
A Collection Executive manages outstanding debts by contacting customers, negotiating payment plans, and recovering overdue payments to maintain company cash flow. They maintain accurate records, provide regular reporting, and work under pressure to meet targets while ensuring compliance with legal regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Debt Recovery: Contact clients (via phone, email, or in-person) to resolve overdue bills and secure payments.
- Negotiation: Negotiate, establish, and manage payment plans with customers.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all conversations, payments, and collection efforts in software or CRM systems.
- Reporting: Regularly update management on the status of outstanding debt and collection progress.
- Compliance: Adhere to legal regulations and company guidelines regarding debt collection.
- Field Visits (If applicable): Conduct on-site visits for high-value or severely delinquent accounts.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years in collections, finance, or customer service.
- Communication: Strong negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in collection software and MS Office.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with debt collection laws and regulations.
Work Environment
- Often involves high-pressure, target-driven scenarios, working in both BPO or professional office environments.
- Includes both inbound/outbound phone work and, occasionally, in-person field visits.
