Job Description:
A Manager of Production & Planning in a chains manufacturing company orchestrates daily manufacturing, develops production schedules based on demand, manages raw material inventory, and ensures safety and quality standards are met. This role optimizes resource utilization to meet delivery targets, reduces manufacturing costs, and leads production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Scheduling: Create and implement weekly/monthly production plans and schedules to align with demand forecasts, ensuring optimal resource allocation and machine capacity utilization.
- Inventory Management: Monitor raw material inventory, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished chain products to prevent shortages or excess, collaborating with procurement for timely raw material availability.
- Operations Management: Supervise daily manufacturing activities, including welding, heat treatment, and assembly, to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements (e.g., lean manufacturing, automation) to reduce production costs, minimize waste, and enhance productivity.
- Performance Analysis: Track KPIs (efficiency, downtime, output), analyze production data, and prepare reports for senior management to measure success against production goals.
- Team Leadership: Manage, train, and motivate production staff to achieve targets, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of managerial experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment (metalworking or chains manufacturing preferred).
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, ERP systems, and production planning software.
- Competencies: Excellent leadership, analytical problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.

- Inventory accuracy.
