Job Description:
A Civil Engineer for a real estate project plans, designs, and oversees construction, ensuring buildings are safe, compliant, and within budget by managing site work, coordinating teams, preparing technical documents (blueprints, cost estimates, reports), solving problems, and ensuring adherence to codes, from initial feasibility studies through final delivery, focusing on structural integrity, infrastructure, and environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Planning: Develop building designs, blueprints, and infrastructure plans, conducting site surveys and feasibility studies.
- Project Management: Oversee timelines, budgets, resources (materials, labor), and coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients.
- Construction Oversight: Monitor site progress, provide technical guidance, ensure quality control, and implement safety measures.
- Compliance & Risk: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations and building codes; assess environmental impacts and potential project risks.
- Documentation: Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, cost estimates, risk assessments, and progress reports.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot design flaws, construction issues, and resource allocation challenges.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant software; strong understanding of building codes and material science.
- Project Management: Budgeting, scheduling, resource management, risk assessment.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and teamwork abilities.
- Experience: Background in residential or commercial construction projects.
