Job Description:
A fitter is a skilled tradesperson who assembles, installs, maintains, and repairs mechanical and structural systems and equipment using tools, machines, blueprints, and specifications. Key duties include reading technical drawings, fabricating and fitting parts, ensuring proper functionality, performing maintenance, and adhering to health and safety standards in industries like manufacturing, construction, and automotive.
Key Responsibilities

Assembly and Installation:Fitting, assembling, and installing mechanical components, machinery, and structural parts according to specifications and blueprints.

Maintenance and Repair:Performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and rectifying issues, and replacing broken or worn-out parts.

Fabrication:Using tools and machinery like cutting torches, power saws, and welding equipment to shape, cut, and form metal parts.

Technical Interpretation:Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications to determine material, method, and machine settings.

Quality Control:Inspecting and testing components and assemblies to ensure they are defect-free, accurate, and meet required standards.

Safety Compliance:Adhering to health, safety, and industry regulations while performing tasks and maintaining work areas.
