Job Description:
A Deputy Manager/Manager for Substation (Operations or Projects) oversees EHV substation, transmission, or BESS projects, focusing on safety, design (SLD, layout), erection, testing, and commissioning. Key responsibilities include vendor management, technical drawing review (ETAP/AutoCAD), operational maintenance, and ensuring compliance with IEEE/IEC standards.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Operations & Maintenance: Supervising daily operations, switching activities, and conducting regular substation maintenance rounds.
- Project Engineering: Developing substation layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), lightning protection, earthing mats, and cable sizing.
- Construction & Commissioning: Managing erection, testing, and commissioning of HT/LT switchgear, Power Transformers, and SCADA systems.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforcing Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, conducting risk assessments (JSEA/MCP), and ensuring HSSE compliance.
- Vendor & Material Management: Coordinating with contractors, inspecting incoming materials, and managing spare parts inventory.
- Reporting & Analytics: Preparing daily/monthly O&M reports, updating asset registers, and managing site KPIs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's/Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 5-12 years in substation design, construction, or O&M.
- Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, and MS Office.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of IEC, IEEE, and IS standards, protective relays, and SCADA.
- Leadership: Experience in managing vendor teams, contractor management, and site safety.
