QUALITY CONTROL HEAD SMS FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - RAIPUR , CHHATTISGARH
Job Description:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) across all production facilities.
- Team Management: Supervise, train, and mentor quality inspectors, technicians, and laboratory staff.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure full compliance with relevant ISO, cGMP, and safety guidelines. Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Supplier Quality: Define and enforce quality criteria for raw material suppliers and monitor their compliance.
- Testing & Inspection: Oversee routine analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods, making final approvals or rejections.
- Data Analysis: Utilize statistical tools and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify defect trends and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Budgeting: Prepare and manage the annual QC departmental budget, including Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) proposals for new testing equipment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial), Chemistry, Microbiology, or a relevant scientific field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years in quality control within a manufacturing or production environment, including at least 3–5 years in a management position.
- Methodologies: Strong working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Certifications: Certifications such as ASQ (American Society for Quality), Six Sigma Black/Green Belt, or ISO Lead Auditor are highly preferred.
- First-Pass Yield (FPY): Percentage of products passing inspection on the first attempt without rework.
- Customer Defect Rate: Reduction in customer complaints or defective products returned.
- Audit Compliance: Zero critical non-conformances during internal and external regulatory audits.
- Supplier Acceptance Rate: Percentage of raw materials accepted on delivery without discrepancy.
