Job Description:
An Electrical Shift Incharge (SID) / Manager manages daily electrical operations, maintenance, and safety compliance in industrial or power plants. Responsibilities include overseeing technicians, troubleshooting breakdowns, ensuring adherence to safety regulations (HT/LT systems), managing utility operations (water treatment, etc.), and optimizing energy consumption during their shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and repair electrical equipment (transformers, motors, DG sets, panels) to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
- Shift Management: Supervise technicians and contract staff, ensuring effective shift handovers and adherence to work permits.
- Troubleshooting: Respond to breakdowns, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols (EHS), legal regulations, and maintain documentation for all electrical work.
- Planning & Coordination: Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules (PMS) and coordinate with other departments for seamless operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 4–8+ years in industrial electrical maintenance (e.g., manufacturing, power plants, refineries).
- Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of HT/LT systems, PLCs, SCADA, and safety standards.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and coordination skills.
- Tools: Knowledge of SAP or similar maintenance management software.
