Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and analytical Legal Consultant to provide expert legal advice, risk assessments, and strategic guidance to our management and internal teams. The ideal candidate will handle contract drafting and negotiations, ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, and support dispute resolution or litigation management.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Advice & Strategy: Provide clear, actionable legal counsel to department heads and executive leadership on day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and update commercial contracts, vendor agreements, MOUs, and other legal documents.
- Compliance & Governance: Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, develop internal policies, and ensure full statutory compliance across business activities.
- Dispute Resolution & Litigation Support: Assist with managing civil, commercial, or employment-related disputes, coordinate with external counsel/advocates, and prepare case materials.
- Research & Risk Mitigation: Conduct thorough legal research on precedents, statutes, and regulatory frameworks to identify potential legal risks and propose proactive solutions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution; specialized LL.M. or bar admission is a strong plus.
- Experience: Typically 3 to 7+ years of experience working as a legal consultant, in-house counsel, or associate in a law firm.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong drafting and contract negotiation skills.
- Deep analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate complex legal terms for non-legal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with legal research tools and corporate compliance frameworks.
