Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled AutoCAD Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will transform conceptual sketches, rough layouts, and engineering specifications into accurate, production-ready 2D and 3D technical drawings and blueprints using AutoCAD software. You will work closely with project managers, structural/mechanical engineers, and architects to ensure all designs meet safety protocols, regulatory codes, and project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Drawing & Modeling: Create, revise, and maintain detailed 2D production drawings, schematics, layouts, and 3D models using AutoCAD.
- Design Interpretation: Interpret engineering notes, redlines, calculations, and architectural blueprints to construct accurate technical documentation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineers, architects, procurement, and manufacturing/construction teams to resolve design conflicts and clarify specifications.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, industry standards (e.g., ISO, BIS, or relevant national codes), and company drafting guidelines.
- Design Optimization & Revisions: Modify existing drawings based on client feedback, field changes, or Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Documentation & Archiving: Maintain organized project files, revision histories, bill of materials (BOMs), and document control logs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, or an Associate degree/Diploma in CAD/Drafting.
- Experience: [2+ / 3+] years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD drafting and technical design within the [insert industry, e.g., construction / manufacturing / MEP] sector.
- Software Proficiency:
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
- Familiarity with complementary software such as SolidWorks, Revit, Civil 3D, or GIS is a strong plus.
- Technical Skills:
