Responsible for operating and monitoring the Argon Oxygen Decarburization (AOD) converter process for stainless steel production. The role involves controlling argon and oxygen blowing, monitoring temperature and chemical composition, managing decarburization and refining operations, and ensuring the required carbon content and steel quality are achieved. The candidate will coordinate with the melting shop, laboratory, and quality control teams, monitor refractory lining conditions, maintain production records, follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensure compliance with safety standards during converter operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor AOD converter during stainless steel refining.

• Control oxygen, argon and nitrogen gas flow as per process requirements.

• Monitor molten steel temperature and chemical composition.

• Ensure proper decarburization, slag formation and alloy additions.

• Coordinate with the SMS, laboratory, CCM and maintenance departments.

• Monitor refractory lining and converter equipment conditions.

• Maintain heat-wise production records and shift reports.

• Follow safety procedures for molten metal and high-temperature operations.

Qualification & Experience
