Job Description:
The West Bengal Health Recruitment Board (WBHRB) Works Foreman job role involves supervising, maintaining, and repairing transport fleets and mechanical units under the State Health Department.
Key Responsibilities & Job Profile
- Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Oversee and handle the overhauling, regular servicing, and mechanical repairs of both petrol and diesel vehicles.
- Workshop Operations: Manage day-to-day operations, equipment maintenance, and workflow inside the health department's automobile workshop.
- Fleet Supervision: Inspect transport units, diagnose mechanical faults, and ensure vehicles remain roadworthy for emergency and medical services.
- Driving & Compliance: Operate light motor vehicles (LMV) or transport category vehicles as required by department duties.
Eligibility & Key Details
- Educational Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (with Automobile Engineering or Internal Combustion Engine as a subject) OR Diploma in Automobile Engineering from a recognized institute.
- Practical Experience: Minimum 2 years of practical experience in an automobile workshop of repute (such as an authorized service centre of a four-wheeler manufacturer or higher).
