FABRICATION ENGINEER

Job Description:

- Fabrication of pipes.
- Able to read Fabrication & Isometric Drawings.
- Handling Shop Floor Activities - Marking, Cutting, Bending, Fit-up, Welding.
- Manpower handling & Daily Production Reporting.

• Production & Shop-Floor Execution:

  • Supervise daily fabrication, cutting, fitting, and assembly processes on the shop floor.

  • Ensure production targets are met on schedule without compromising safety or quality standards.

  • Monitor the utilization of machinery, equipment, and raw materials (structural steel plates, beams, and tubes).

• Technical & Blueprint Management:

  • Accurately interpret engineering drawings, CAD layouts, and fabrication blueprints.

  • Coordinate with the design office to resolve discrepancies in structural drawings or welding sequences.

  • Inspection & Testing:

    • Perform raw material inspections (checking mill test certificates, steel plates, structural sections, and tubes).

    • Conduct in-process and final dimensional inspections of welded structures, composite girders, and boiler components (headers, coils, heat exchangers).

    • Coordinate and witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), and Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT).

  • Welding Quality Compliance:

    • Monitor welding processes to ensure adherence to approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and welder qualifications (WPQ).

    • Conduct visual and dimensional checks of weld joints to prevent defects (porosity, undercut, cracks).

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs), Material Test Reports, and Inspection Test Reports (ITRs).

    • Maintain traceability records of materials used in fabrication.

    • Coordinate with third-party inspection agencies (TPIAs) and client representatives for final product clearance and dispatch approvals.
