FINANCE CONTROLLER FOR UGANDA

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and authorize financial transactions, vendor payments, purchase orders and operational expenditure within approved financial limits.

• Review and approve payment proposals, invoices, contracts and other financial commitments.

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and cost-control activities.

• Monitor cash flow, working capital, bank balances and fund utilization.

• Establish and strengthen internal financial controls and approval procedures.

• Review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, MIS reports and management accounts.

• Ensure compliance with applicable Uganda tax laws, statutory requirements and financial regulations.

• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax consultants and financial institutions.

• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control and collection activities.

• Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and assess financial feasibility and returns.

• Identify financial risks, control costs and improve profitability.

• Supervise, mentor and develop the finance and accounts team.

• Coordinate with procurement, operations, HR and senior management for financial decisions.

• Ensure timely completion of internal and external audits.

• Implement and improve ERP systems, financial reporting processes and approval workflows.
