Job Description:

Quality Control & Assurance (QA/QC)

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections for raw materials, heavy structural fabrications, machined parts, and bought-out components.

• Verify material test certificates (MTR), chemical composition reports, and physical test reports against project specifications.

• Monitor welding quality, dimensional tolerances, and alignment checks using precision measuring tools and gauges.

• Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), or Radiography Testing (RT) where required.

• Maintain comprehensive quality documentation, calibration logs, inspection reports, and handle Customer/Third-Party Inspection Agency (TPIA) audits.

Mechanical Engineering & Shop-Floor Operations

• Interpret complex 2D and 3D engineering drawings, fabrication layouts, and Bill of Materials (BOM).

• Provide technical guidance to shop-floor fabricators, welders, and assembly technicians to resolve production roadblocks.

• Ensure adherence to safety norms, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and shop-floor quality protocols.

• Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and equipment testing (dry run tests) prior to dispatch.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using 5S, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for any production defects or quality non-conformities.

3. Candidate Profile & Requirements

• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

• Experience: 2 to 6+ years of relevant experience in heavy engineering, steel structures, industrial machinery, or capital goods manufacturing.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in reading engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD / SolidWorks).

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality standards and welding standards (ASME/AWS preferred).

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, proactive problem-solving abilities, good cross-functional communication, and readiness to handle shop-floor pressures.
