Job Description:
A manages all testing, inspection activities, and quality compliance during a designated shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Shift Supervision: Oversee “all quality control activities during the assigned shift.”
- Testing & Inspection: Conduct physical and chemical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Equipment Calibration: “Operate and calibrate lab instruments such as muffle furnace, spectrometer, carbon-sulfur analyzer, pH meter, sieve shaker, etc.” [-- bebee.com]
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure adherence to standard testing methods like IS, BIS, or ASTM.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate test logs and prepare shift-wise quality reports.
- Team Leadership: Train, guide, and allocate tasks for lab assistants and operators.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Enforce safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in testing and production areas.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or related engineering fields.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of plant or lab experience in manufacturing, steel, or processing industries.
- Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, instrument handling, and team management.
