Job Description:
A Purchase Officer manages an organization's procurement of goods, materials, and services, ensuring the best pricing, high quality, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Research: Identify and evaluate potential vendors, suppliers, and local/outstation markets.
- Negotiation: Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to maximize cost-effectiveness.
- Order Execution: Place purchase orders, track shipments, and verify incoming stock against purchase requests.
- Inventory & Records: Monitor stock levels, update internal databases, and maintain accurate records of purchases and invoices.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with warehouse, finance, and internal departments to align purchasing needs with budgets.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or vendor management.
- Core Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and enterprise resource planning (ERP) or purchasing software.
