Job Description:
A Turbine Operator controls, monitors, and maintains steam, gas, or industrial turbines to generate reliable power.
Key Responsibilities
- Turbine Operation: Start up, shut down, and regulate turbine speed, pressure, temperature, and generator output.
- Monitoring and Inspection: Check gauges, meters, and digital control systems to track performance and spot abnormal vibrations or temperatures.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Lubricate parts, clean equipment, tighten loose joints, and perform minor mechanical fixes.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow strict health, safety, and environmental regulations during all plant operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: High school diploma plus a technical certificate or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years working in power plants, manufacturing, or industrial turbine environments.
- Core Skills: Strong problem-solving, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with digital control systems (DCS).
