Job Description:
An Area Sales Manager (ASM) drives revenue, manages local sales teams, and expands market share within a designated geographic territory. They act as the bridge between corporate goals and local field execution, handling everything from client negotiations to team coaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Target Achievement: Meet or exceed regional sales quotas, revenue goals, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Team Leadership: Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate field sales reps or medical representatives.
- Client Relations: Build strong partnerships with key accounts, major clients, dealers, and distributors.
- Territory Strategy: Identify new business prospects and analyze local market trends.
- Sales Reporting: Track performance metrics, monitor competitor activity, and provide accurate sales forecasts to upper management.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is often preferred.
- Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven field sales or sales management experience.
- Hard Skills: Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), sales analytics, and contract negotiation.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Travel: Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region.
