A Mechanical Site Shift Incharge manages plant operations, equipment maintenance, and shift workforces during assigned hours. They minimize equipment downtime, troubleshoot mechanical failures quickly, and guarantee site safety in heavy industries like manufacturing, steel, or power.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Operations: Run preventive, predictive, and breakdown mechanical maintenance across site machinery.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fix mechanical defects rapidly to avoid production halts.
- Team Leadership: Direct shift technicians, fitters, and contract laborers to meet goals.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict plant safety protocols, work permits, and proper use of gear.
- Shift Logging: Record machine log data, breakdowns, and repair details for handover.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 3 to 10 years working on industrial or manufacturing sites.
- Skills: Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating machinery, and shop-floor safety.
