Job Description:
A Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Purchase or Procurement leads end-to-end sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization. This senior role oversees purchasing strategies, manages vendor relationships, reduces operational costs, and directs procurement teams to ensure material availability while meeting corporate quality and financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Build category strategies, run requests for quotes (RFQs), negotiate major contracts, and source alternate vendors.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and monitor supplier performance based on price, delivery times, and product quality.
- Cost Optimization: Drive annual cost reduction goals, analyze market price trends, and execute value engineering initiatives.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and guide purchasing personnel to improve workflow efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Work: Align with production, finance, legal, and quality control departments to prevent stock shortages and maintain compliance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 10 to 18 years of relevant work experience in supply chain, logistics, or industrial purchasing.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering; a Master’s degree or Material Management PG diploma is often preferred.
- Skills: Advanced contract negotiation, market analysis, leadership abilities, and proficiency in ERP or procurement software.
