Job Description:
A field operator is a hands-on industrial worker who monitors, operates, and maintains physical machinery, valves, pumps, and safety systems on-site. Key duties include conducting routine equipment inspections, performing minor preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance.
Core Responsibilities
- Equipment Monitoring: Check gauges, meters, and local instruments during regular plant or field rounds.
- System Operations: Start up, shut down, and adjust pumps, compressors, and valves safely.
- Routine Maintenance: Handle basic upkeep tasks like lubrication, filter changes, and tightening connections.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) rules, wear protective gear, and report hazards.
- Record Keeping: Log daily readings, equipment issues, and shift handovers accurately.
Job Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or a technical vocational/ITI/diploma in mechanical or chemical engineering.
- Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, basic troubleshooting, and the ability to read technical diagrams.
- Physical Ability: Good stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform active tasks.
