Job Description:
A Senior Fitter (Sr. Fitter) installs, maintains, and repairs complex industrial machinery, leads junior mechanical teams, and ensures total plant safety and operational uptime. Key duties include precision alignment, advanced troubleshooting, and blueprint interpretation.
Key Responsibilities
- Machinery Maintenance: Inspects, rebuilds, and repairs heavy industrial equipment like gearboxes, conveyors, and pumps.
- Precision Alignment: Performs exact shaft and coupling alignments using specialized measuring tools.
- Leadership & Safety: Assigns daily tasks, enforces site safety protocols, and trains junior technicians.
- Blueprint Analysis: Interprets complex technical drawings and schematic diagrams to guide installations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on industrial fitting and mechanical maintenance experience.
- Education: High school diploma plus an ITI Fitter trade certificate or equivalent technical training.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong command of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic welding or fabrication techniques.
- Tools Proficiency: Expert use of precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, and dial gauges.
