CNC OPERATOR FOR STEEL FABRICATION PLANT - BHILAI - CHHATTISGARH
Job Description:
Department: Production & Manufacturing
- Machine Setup & Programming: Prepare CNC machines (mills, lathes, or routers) by entering instructions, zero/reference points, and ensuring the correct tools are installed.
- Material Management: Safely load raw materials into the machine and align them correctly for precise cuts.
- Operation & Monitoring: Oversee the machining process, monitoring feeds and speeds to prevent defects or tool breakage.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measurement tools like vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify they meet exact tolerances.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance. Identify malfunctions and troubleshoot errors to minimize downtime.
- Documentation: Complete production logs, track inventory, and report output or issues to the Production Supervisor.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean work environment and follow all industrial safety and PPE guidelines.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
- Experience: 1-4+ years of hands-on experience operating CNC machinery (depending on the complexity of the machines).
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files.
- Math & Analytical Skills: Proficiency in basic algebra, geometry, and mechanical dimensioning (GD&T).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift or carry heavy materials (up to 25-35 kg).
- Familiarity with specific control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Siemens).
- Experience working with specific materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, titanium).
