Job Description:
A Drill Operator sets up, monitors, and maintains drilling machinery to create boreholes, extract core samples, or shape materials. They ensure equipment functions efficiently, adjust parameters for varying geological formations, and strictly adhere to safety protocols. 
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Drill Operator to join our team. You will be responsible for operating heavy drilling rigs or machinery to exact project specifications. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read technical blueprints, and the physical stamina to work in diverse environmental conditions. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate drilling machines to boreholes, extract samples, or perform detailed milling. 
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components. 
  • Quality Control: Monitor drilling speed, depth, and alignment, inspecting finished products or extracted cores for accuracy. 
  • Data Logging: Accurately record drilling parameters, material types, and operational conditions for project documentation. 
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict workplace safety standards, including OSHA regulations, hazard reporting, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience operating drilling rigs, core drills, or similar heavy machinery.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in heavy equipment operations is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of soil mechanics/geology, blueprint reading, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Physical & Environmental Demands: Capable of working in varying weather conditions, lifting heavy materials, and standing for extended periods.
  • Certifications: Valid driver’s license, OSHA 10 Certification, and relevant heavy machinery operation licenses are strong pluses.
