LATHE OPERATOR FOR STEEL FABRICATION - BHILAI - CHHATTISGARH
Job Description:
- Setup & Operation: Mount workpieces, select appropriate cutting tools, and adjust lathe controls for proper speeds and feed rates.
- Machining Operations: Perform precision operations including turning, facing, threading, drilling, and knurling.
- Quality Control: Inspect fabricated parts against blueprints to ensure they meet specified tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
- Maintenance: Monitor machine performance, replace dull tools, and perform routine preventative maintenance.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to shop safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and keeping the work area clean.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience operating manual or CNC lathe machines.
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, mechanical drawings, and geometric tolerances.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long shifts.
