Job Description:
A Senior Quality Engineer leads a company's quality assurance and control processes. They drive continuous improvements, enforce regulatory standards, manage root-cause investigations, and mentor junior staff. The role acts as a bridge between manufacturing, engineering, software, and supply-chain teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Process & Product Quality: Define quality standards, inspect materials, and conduct audits.
- Testing & Automation: Design and oversee QA test procedures, troubleshoot issues, and ensure market readiness.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, or FMEA to eliminate defects and streamline operations.
- Supplier Management: Monitor supplier performance (KPIs/PPAPs) and resolve vendor bottlenecks.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with design, engineering, and product teams to establish quality strategies.
Technical Specifications
- Quality Frameworks: ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (Automotive), or GMP (Pharmaceuticals).
- Quality Methodologies: FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action), and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
- Software Testing (if applicable): Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., AWS, Git, RobotFramework, or Selenium).
- Metrics & Analytics: Statistical process control (SPC), data interpretation, and root-cause analysis (RCA).
Role Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Software, or Quality Engineering.
- Experience: 5 - 8+ years of proven experience in QA/QC, testing, or a closely related engineering role.
- Certifications: Professional credentials such as ASQ (American Society for Quality) CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) are highly preferred.
