Job Description:
A mechanical engineer designs, develops, tests, and manufactures mechanical and thermal devices. They oversee the complete product lifecycle, using CAD to create blueprints, building prototypes, and conducting evaluations. They ensure the finished products are safe, efficient, and cost-effective.
Core Responsibilities
- Product Design: Conceptualize and develop mechanical parts and systems using CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation software (FEA/CFD).
- Prototyping & Testing: Build and evaluate prototypes, analyze test data, and modify designs to meet performance standards.
- Manufacturing: Develop assembly and manufacturing processes, oversee production, and modify equipment for optimal fabrication.
- Project Management: Estimate project budgets, timelines, and material requirements.
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, product manuals, and standard operating procedures for operators.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all machinery and systems comply with government and industry legal safety standards.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
- Technical Software: Proficiency in 2D/3D design tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and analysis tools (Ansys, Abaqus).
- Core Concepts: Strong understanding of mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials science.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and written skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
