Job Description:
The Assistant Electrical Head (or Assistant Electrical Manager) supports the chief electrical head in managing power infrastructure, ensuring operational reliability, and maintaining compliance with safety standards. They supervise technical teams, oversee equipment maintenance, coordinate project execution, and optimize energy consumption to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Maintenance: Direct daily shift operations, execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, and troubleshoot electrical breakdowns.
- Project Management: Lead electrical installations from planning to commissioning, review technical drawings, manage Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and track project budgets.
- Team Leadership: Supervise electrical technicians and junior engineers, assign daily tasks, and conduct safety training.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce adherence to local electrical codes (e.g., Central Electricity Authority regulations in India) and site safety protocols.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with contractors, evaluate electrical materials, and verify vendor invoices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Typically 5 to 12 years of experience in plant maintenance, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), or infrastructure projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) systems, substations, transformers, PLCs, and AutoCAD.
