Job Description:
A Senior Electrician for a fabrication plant is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heavy machinery like welding units, EOT cranes, and control panels. The role demands rigorous preventative maintenance, adherence to industrial safety standards, and minimizing production downtime.
- Preventative Maintenance: Routinely inspect and service electrical control panels, motors, and fabrication equipment to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and rectify complex electrical faults in heavy-duty machinery (e.g., grinders, welding machines, EOT cranes).
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, Indian Electricity (IE) rules, and strict hazard prevention protocols.
- Shift Operations: Manage utility machine operations and oversee shift-based maintenance tasks.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior ITI technicians and apprentices.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: ITI (Electrician) or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Typically 2 to 5 years of hands-on industrial or heavy manufacturing experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with HT/LT lines, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), switchgears, and automated production systems
