Job Description:
- Lead and manage all operations of the Steel Melting Shop (SMS) to achieve production, quality, and cost targets.
- Plan and supervise steel melting operations, including furnace charging, melting, refining, alloying, and tapping.
- Ensure efficient operation of Induction Furnace/Electric Arc Furnace, Ladle Furnace, and Continuous Casting Machine (CCM).
- Monitor production schedules, furnace productivity, metal yield, and process efficiency to achieve operational goals.
- Optimize raw material consumption, power utilization, refractory life, and overall manufacturing costs.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, planning, and dispatch teams for smooth plant operations.
- Ensure adherence to metallurgical specifications, product quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives through TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and process optimization.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with engineering teams.
- Prepare production MIS reports, KPI dashboards, and operational reviews for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop departmental teams while fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Candidates with extensive experience in Steel Melting Shop operations, integrated steel plants, and leadership roles in the steel industry will be preferred.
