Job Description:
A "Kata Operator" in steel manufacturing manages automated cutting or shaping machines to process steel according to exact blueprints. They load materials, adjust settings, conduct quality checks, and perform preventative maintenance. This role ensures production efficiency while adhering to strict safety protocols. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Core Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Safely set up, operate, and shut down automated machinery (e.g., CNC, press brakes, or slitting lines) used to cut and bend steel. [1, 2, 3]
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and analyze technical drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine exact project specifications and tolerances. [1, 2]
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished steel parts using measurement tools (e.g., calipers, gauges) to verify dimensions and identify surface imperfections. [1, 2]
- Material Handling: Load raw steel sheets or plates into machines and remove finished workpieces. [1, 2, 3]
