Job Description:
The Brick Plant Head directs all manufacturing operations—from raw material mixing and molding to firing and dispatch. This senior leadership role is responsible for maximizing production efficiency, ensuring compliance with heat-resistance and durability standards, controlling operational costs, and enforcing strict health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Production & Operations: Plan and supervise daily manufacturing. Optimize kiln operations, streamline workflows, and ensure production output meets all consumption requirements. [1]
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of raw materials (e.g., clay, silica, alumina) and finished products. Ensure bricks meet strict industry standards. [1, 2]
- Maintenance Management: Oversee the upkeep of brick presses, mixers, dryers, and kiln systems. Coordinate preventive maintenance with the engineering team to minimize equipment downtime. [1]
- Inventory & Procurement: Manage the supply chain for raw materials and maintain optimal inventory levels for both inputs and finished goods. [1]
- Team Leadership: Supervise plant personnel, including operators and technicians. Provide training on safety and quality protocols, allocate schedules, and monitor performance. [1]
- Safety & Compliance: Foster a culture of safety. Ensure the facility complies with all local, state, and national occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations. [1]
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Typically 10+ years in manufacturing, with at least 5-7 years in a managerial or operational head role within a brick or refractory manufacturing facility.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ceramics, Metallurgy, or a related field.
