Job Description:
A Jr. Instrument Engineer for Central Control Systems (CCS) in a steel plant supports the design, calibration, and maintenance of automation and control systems. They ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant machinery by continuously monitoring process variables like temperature, pressure, and flow. [1, 2, 3]
Core Responsibilities
- System Maintenance & Calibration: Perform routine calibration and troubleshooting of field instruments (transmitters, control valves) to ensure peak accuracy. [1, 2]
- Control System Monitoring: Assist with the monitoring and programming of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and SCADA. [1]
- Breakdown & Preventive Maintenance: Aid in executing planned maintenance schedules and respond quickly to system breakdowns to minimize downtime. [1]
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs for spare parts, calibrations, and repairs. Update technical manuals, schematics, and P&ID drawings. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Team Assistance: Collaborate closely with senior engineers and operations staff to integrate new control systems and ensure compliance with safety/environmental regulations. [1, 2]
Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of PLC/DCS programming, HMI interfaces, and field instrumentation.
