Job Description:
A Service Engineer in a chains manufacturing facility ensures optimal uptime and performance of heavy-duty machinery. They are responsible for troubleshooting mechanical/electrical breakdowns, executing preventative maintenance, and installing production equipment to maximize factory efficiency. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on chain-forming machines, wire drawing units, heat treatment furnaces, and automated assembly lines. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults, swiftly repair or replace defective parts, and minimize production downtime. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Installation & Commissioning: Set up, calibrate, and test newly acquired or relocated manufacturing machinery to ensure precision and safety. [1, 2]
- Spare Parts Management: Monitor inventory levels of critical wear-and-tear components, ensuring timely reordering to prevent operational delays. [1, 2, 3]
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce strict adherence to safety standards (e.g., OSHA, local regulations) and maintain a clean, hazard-free workshop environment. [1, 2]
- Documentation: Log all service requests, repairs, and part replacements into the maintenance tracking software. [1]
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering. [1, 2, 3]
- Experience: 3 to 7+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience, specifically with heavy machinery or chain/fastener manufacturing equipment. [1]
- Technical Skills:
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) troubleshooting and CNC controls.
