Job Description:
A hotel housekeeping staff member ensures guests experience a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Their duties include sanitizing rooms, changing linens, restocking supplies, and reporting maintenance issues. They are essential for maintaining the hotel's reputation and upholding strict hygiene standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Room Cleaning: Perform daily cleaning and deep cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, and corridors.
- Linen Management: Change bed linens, towels, and restock amenities (toiletries, coffee, etc.).
- Public Area Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of shared spaces, including the lobby, elevators, hallways, and dining areas.
- Inventory & Supplies: Manage and organize housekeeping carts, linen closets, and report low stock to management.
- Maintenance Reporting: Identify and report any damages, broken fixtures, or safety hazards to the maintenance team.
- Guest Services: Respond professionally and promptly to guest requests (e.g., extra towels, pillows) and handle lost-and-found items.
- Health & Safety: Adhere strictly to safety protocols regarding the use of cleaning chemicals and follow infection control guidelines.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds during a shift.
- Time Management: Capable of prioritizing tasks to complete assigned room quotas on schedule.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures every room meets the hotel’s exact cleanliness and aesthetic standards.
- Communication: Professional interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with guests and coordinate effectively with team members.
