Job Description:
A Steel Industry Helper provides essential, hands-on support to machine operators, mechanics, and technicians. Key duties include transporting raw materials, assisting with routine equipment maintenance, handling tools, and ensuring the shop floor remains clean, organized, and compliant with plant safety protocols.
Core Responsibilities
- Operational Assistance: Support technicians and operators during production runs by feeding machines, fetching tools, and preparing workpieces.
- Material Handling: Safely load, unload, and transport heavy raw materials, scrap, and finished metal products around the facility.
- Maintenance Support: Assist with routine machinery inspections, lubricate moving parts, and help assemble/dismantle equipment during repairs.
- Housekeeping: Keep work zones, rolling mills, and workshops free of debris and safety hazards.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to the plant's safety guidelines, immediately report hazards, and correctly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy manual labor and stand for long hours in demanding, high-heat industrial environments.
- Basic Tool Familiarity: Comfort using basic hand and power tools.
- Teamwork: Strong capability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
Requirements & Work Environment
- Education: Minimum 10th-grade pass preferred.
- Experience: 1–2 years of factory or industrial experience is a strong advantage.
- Environment: Exposure to noise, heat, and heavy machinery; requires a strong commitment to industrial safety.
