Job Description:
- Blueprint Reading: Analyze complex technical drawings and schematics to determine exact material specifications and project requirements.
- Material Preparation: Measure, mark, and cut raw steel using saws, flame cutters, and plasma torches.
- Shaping & Assembly: Bend, roll, and assemble metal components using press brakes, rollers, drill presses, and jigs prior to welding.
- Welding & Joining: Join and fuse cut steel parts together using various welding techniques, primarily MIG, TIG, and Stick (SMAW).
- Quality Control: Perform rigorous visual and physical inspections to verify that finished products match design tolerances and industry standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and safely operate fabrication tools and workshop machinery.
- Technical Knowledge: High school diploma or vocational/trade school certificate in metal fabrication, welding, or a related mechanical field.
- Certifications: AWS (American Welding Society) or equivalent regional certifications (e.g., I-BRIGE, ISO standards) for specialized welding applications.
- Math Skills: Advanced ability to apply shop math, geometry, and trigonometry to calculate precise angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Physical Capabilities: Good physical stamina, heavy lifting capacity, and the ability to work comfortably while standing, climbing, or kneeling in potentially noisy or hazardous environments.

The company is in midst of implementing a 0.42 Million Tonne Per Annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant to produce steel. Steel thus produced will consume 0.315 Million Tonne Sponge Iron from the proposed unit and 0.03 Million Tonne from the existing unit. Thus consuming the entire quantity of high grade sponge iron produced in its own manufacturing facilities. When iron is smelted from its ore by commercial processes, it contains more carbon, phosphorus, sulphar etc. than is desirable. To produce high quality steel, the elements must be brought to the within the desirable limits. The liquid steel is processed through AOD and VOD furnaces to achieve the desirable limits of elements. The liquid is then continuously casted into long slabs or through ingots.
