Job Description:
A Logistics Executive in a cement plant manages end-to-end dispatch operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of cement by coordinating with transporters, loading teams, and customers. Responsibilities include managing truck loading, optimizing routes, preparing documentation (E-way bills, invoices), and maintaining inventory accuracy at warehouses or depots. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Dispatch Operations: Oversee daily dispatch (bagged & bulk cement), manage truck turnaround time (TAT), and ensure smooth loading at the plant or dispatch depot.
- Logistics Planning & Coordination: Coordinate with transporters, dealers, and customers to ensure on-time delivery while optimizing freight costs.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and verify dispatch documents, including invoices, Lorry Receipts (LR), gate passes, and E-way bills, ensuring GST compliance.
- Inventory & Warehouse Management: Monitor stock levels, reconcile stock, and manage stacking/loading operations to prevent transit losses.
- Vendor & Transporter Management: Negotiate rates, monitor transporter performance, and resolve logistical bottlenecks.
- MIS Reporting: Prepare daily/weekly reports on logistics costs, delivery efficiency, and inventory status. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Graduate in any discipline (b.com preferred) or specialized in logistics/supply chain.
- Experience: 2–3 years of experience, preferably in the cement or building materials industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Competencies: Strong negotiation skills, route optimization knowledge, and problem-solving abilities
