Job Description:
A Cement Plant Supervisor oversees daily production, packing, or dispatch operations, ensuring machinery runs efficiently and safety protocols (PPE, OSHA) are followed. They manage shift teams, monitor quality (clinker/cement mix), and optimize processes to meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Oversight: Manage packing plant, silos, and loading machinery, handling extraction, material handling, and clinker loading.
- Production Targets: Coordinate with teams to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production and dispatch goals.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations (OSHA), ensure proper PPE usage, and conduct safety meetings (toolbox talks).
- Quality Control: Monitor cement quality to ensure it adheres to company standards and specifications.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Liaise with maintenance teams to minimize downtime by scheduling preventative maintenance and repairing machinery.
- Team Management: Train, schedule, and supervise plant operators, packers, and loading workers.
Requirements & Skills
- Education: Typically a Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Usually 1-4 years of experience in a cement or concrete manufacturing environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of packing machines, conveyors, and automated plant processes.
- Soft Skills: Leadership capabilities, strong communication, troubleshooting abilities, and computer literacy (e.g., SAP, MS Office).
