CHEMIST FERRO ALLOYS FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - RAIPUR , CHHATTISGARH
Job Description:
- Sample & Analysis: Collect and test samples of manganese ore, iron ore, coal, and coke for chemical composition (e.g., \(Mn\), \(Si\), \(Fe\), \(Al_{2}O_{3}\), \(P\), \(S\)).
- Quality Control: Perform daily quality control (QC) tests on raw materials and final products, ensuring adherence to ASTM or company standards.
- Instrumentation: Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), and moisture analyzers.
- Reporting: Prepare daily/monthly reports and maintain documentation of test results, calibration logs, and chemical inventory.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with production/furnace teams to troubleshoot process deviations based on lab analysis.
- Safety: Ensure strict adherence to lab safety protocols, 5S standards, and environmental regulations. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
- Experience: 2–5 years in a ferro alloy or steel industry lab.
- Skills: Strong wet chemistry skills, proficiency in XRF/AAS, and technical report writing.
