Job Description:
A Chartered Accountant (CA) for a steel manufacturing unit oversees complete financial operations, including cost accounting, tax compliance (GST/TDS), and financial reporting under Ind AS/GAAP. Key responsibilities involve monitoring raw material costs (coal/iron ore), managing working capital, and providing MIS reports to drive cost optimization. 
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Cost Accounting & Inventory: Perform variance analysis, monitor product costing (TMT bars/billets), and manage inventory valuation to improve profitability.
  • Financial Reporting & Closing: Prepare and finalize balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow reports on a monthly/annual basis.
  • Taxation & Regulatory Compliance: Manage GST, TDS/TCS, Income Tax filings, and ensuring statutory compliance.
  • Banking & Treasury: Oversee bank relationships, manage borrowings, and optimize working capital.
  • Internal Controls & Audit: Implement internal controls and assist with statutory or internal audits.
  • MIS & Strategic Planning: Prepare daily/monthly reports on plant performance and provide insights for cost reduction.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Experience: Typically 2–10 years in manufacturing, with a strong preference for experience in an integrated steel plant.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP FICO.
  • Key Competencies: Strong knowledge of cost accounting, taxation laws, and financial analysis.
