Job Description:
A Civil Surveyor for a steel plant project ensures precise layout, alignment, and elevation for heavy industrial construction, including pile foundations, steel structures, and equipment foundations. Responsibilities include using Total Stations/GPS to verify construction matches design drawings, managing site topography, and collaborating with contractors to ensure quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Construction Layout & Verification: Perform precise setting out for foundations, steel structure installation, and infrastructure. Ensure work complies with approved drawings.
- Site Inspection: Conduct topographical surveys and site investigations for layout assessment and to monitor site conditions.
- Steel Structural Checking: Check alignment, elevation, and verticality of erected steel structures to meet safety and structural integrity standards.
- Data Management: Use Total Station, GPS, and CAD software to analyze data and update site drawings.
- Reporting: Prepare daily/weekly progress reports (WPR) and non-conformity reports (NCR) regarding site surveys.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Surveying.
- Experience: 3–5 years experience, specifically in heavy industrial, steel plant, or structural steel surveying.
- Technology Proficiency: Expertise with Total Station, GPS equipment, and CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of civil engineering, RCC, and PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) layouts.
