Job Description:
An HR Admin for a power plant, often referred to as a Plant HR/Admin Officer or Industrial Relations (IR) Administrator, plays a critical role in bridging management and a large, often unionized, blue-collar workforce. 
This role combines traditional HR functions (onboarding, payroll) with site-specific responsibilities (safety compliance, union negotiations, site facilities). 
 
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Statutory Compliance & Reporting: Ensure 100% adherence to labor laws (Factories Act, Minimum Wages Act, PF/ESI).
  • Industrial Relations (IR): Maintain plant harmony, manage union relations, and handle grievances/disputes.
  • Workforce Administration & Payroll: Manage attendance, shift schedules, and timesheets for both permanent and contract labor to ensure accurate payroll disbursement.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage end-to-end hiring for technical and administrative roles, including safety inductions and document verification.
  • Facility & Welfare Management: Oversee canteen operations, security, transportation, and housekeeping to maintain a healthy work environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date employee records, personnel files, and documentation related to ISO audits. 
     
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Management, or Social Work (MSW/MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in HR/Admin within a manufacturing, factory, or power plant environment.
  • Knowledge: Sound understanding of labor regulations (Factories Act) and Industrial Relations.
  • Software: Proficiency in HRMS/payroll tools (e.g., SAP, ADP, GreytHR) and MS Office (Excel).
  • Languages: Strong command of the local language is often mandatory for dealing with workers.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills to handle high-pressure environments. 
     
Typical Work Schedule
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Flexibility required to manage plant operating hours (shifts) and respond to emergencies.

  • Zero compliance penalties during government labor audits.
  • Accurate and timely payroll disbursement for staff and contract laborers.

The entity is engaged in setting up a Greenfield project at Mudpar --- Rampura villages in the Nawagarh tehsil, Bemetara district (near Mungeli), which includes 2×350 TPD DRI (sponge iron) kilns --- an 18-MW WHRB-based captive --- plant.
