Job Description:
A Senior (Sr.) Electrician in a steel company (e.g., Job Leads Durg, JobItUs Bilaspur) is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing high-voltage, industrial electrical systems and machinery like induction furnaces, CCMs, and cranes. They focus on minimizing downtime through troubleshooting, preventative maintenance on AC/DC drives and PLCs, and adhering to strict safety standards (LOTO).
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct daily inspections and preventive maintenance on high-voltage (HT/LT) panels, motors, and substations to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and fix complex electrical issues in production machinery (e.g., rolling mills, melting furnaces).
- Installation: Install new electrical equipment, wiring, panels, and switchgear in compliance with safety codes.
- Supervision: Mentor and lead a team of junior technicians, helpers, and contractors.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all electrical maintenance, repairs, and energy usage.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations (e.g., LOTO, insulation, earthing) to prevent accidents.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, according to Cstari and JobItUs.
- Experience: Significant experience (typically 5-15 years) in a heavy manufacturing or steel environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC programming, VFD drives, HT/LT operations, and motor controls.
- Knowledge: Expertise in industrial electrical safety standards, circuit schematics, and, per Cstari, hydraulic/pneumatic circuits.
- Soft Skills: Leadership, team coordination, and problem-solving skills.

The entity is engaged in setting up a Greenfield project at Mudpar --- Rampura villages in the Nawagarh tehsil, Bemetara district (near Mungeli), which includes 2×350 TPD DRI (sponge iron) kilns --- an 18-MW WHRB-based captive --- plant.
