Job Description:
A Helper in a steel company supports production by handling materials, operating machinery, cleaning workspaces, and aiding skilled technicians. Key duties include loading/unloading steel materials, maintaining equipment, and following strict safety protocols. They often assist welders, fitters, or machine operators, helping with tasks like positioning steel bars or plates.
Core Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Loading, unloading, and transporting heavy steel plates, bars, and beams around the site.
- Production Support: Assisting skilled workers (welders, cutters, technicians) by holding materials and fetching tools.
- Equipment Upkeep: Cleaning, maintaining tools, and cleaning machinery to prevent breakdowns.
- Site Maintenance: Maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety regulations and using personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Basic Operations: Operating basic machinery and assisting with cutting or structural assembly under supervision.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift heavy materials and work in demanding, hot environments.
- Safety Consciousness: Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, workplace health and safety protocols.
- Technical Support: Familiarity with basic hand/power tools.
