Job Description:
A Welder/Cutter in a steel company joins, cuts, and repairs metal parts and structures using high-heat processes like MIG, TIG, or Stick welding, and plasma/oxy-fuel cutting. They must interpret blueprints, prepare metal surfaces, maintain equipment, and adhere to strict safety standards to produce durable structural components.
Key Responsibilities
- Welding & Joining: Utilize MIG, TIG, and Stick welding to fuse steel parts together according to engineering specifications.
- Cutting & Fabrication: Use plasma cutters, oxy-fuel torches, and saws to cut, trim, and shape steel components precisely.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read technical drawings, blueprints, and layouts to plan welding and cutting operations.
- Quality Inspection: Inspect welds for defects, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with safety standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot welding machines, torches, and hand tools.
- Surface Preparation: Clean, grind, and prepare metal surfaces by removing grease or rust before welding.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, specifically for structural steel.
- Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, or heavy metal fabrication.
- Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to safety protocols and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and work in confined spaces.
- Certification: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding is highly preferred.
Work Environment
- Positions often involve full-time hours, including 8- to 12-hour shifts, weekends, and evenings.
- Work is conducted in noisy, hot, and sometimes high-risk environments, requiring adherence to safety regulations.

The entity is engaged in setting up a Greenfield project at Mudpar --- Rampura villages in the Nawagarh tehsil, Bemetara district (near Mungeli), which includes 2×350 TPD DRI (sponge iron) kilns --- an 18-MW WHRB-based captive --- plant.
