Job Description:
An IT Incharge for a hospital manages all technological infrastructure, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), network security, and hardware maintenance. Key responsibilities include ensuring 24/7 system uptime, compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA), managing IT staff, and providing technical support to clinical personnel.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- System Administration: Overseeing daily operations of hospital information systems, data centers, networks, and telecommunications.
- Data Security & Compliance: Developing cybersecurity protocols, securing patient data, and ensuring HIPAA compliance.
- Technical Support & Maintenance: Managing help desk services, resolving hardware/software issues, and performing system upgrades.
- Infrastructure Management: Maintaining computer equipment, servers, and, where applicable, the Hospital IT System Administrator duties.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Coordinating with technology vendors, managing IT inventory, and overseeing the IT budget.
- Strategic Planning: Implementing new medical technologies and telemedicine platforms.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in healthcare IT, typically with supervisory experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Healthcare IT Jobs (including EMR/EHR software), network administration, and data security protocols.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.
